It is the second time we have come as it is our go to place whenever we come to Stratford. We requested the Paris room again and just as before, everything was immaculate. The view over the garden and sounding countryside is stunning and watching the birds and squirrels feed was an added delight. The bed is so comfortable, and the only thing that got us up was the delicious home cooked breakfast!

Cannot wait to rebook. We could easily just move in and never leave, although I’m sure Gillie and Paul would have something to say about that!!

We urge anybody who is looking for a charming place to stay, to stay here. Cannot recommend highly enough

I was made very welcome. My room was lovely and I had my own separate bathroom with a bath as well. I would definitely recommend Gillies homemade marmalade. A lovely and homely place to stay.

The property has a perfect balance of old character and comfortable modern living . We stayed in the Paris themed room which has a double bed and an ensuite modern showeroom. Hot drinks making facilities and all sorts of toiletry items are available . We thoroughly enjoyed the bonus of wandering around the extensive garden which Gillian and Paul make available via the National open gardens scheme for charity for everyone to enjoy . Our breakfast was delicious well cooked and presented and we certainly enjoyed everything and being served ! We used Ideal taxi company for a return journey to Stratford and enjoyed a delicious meal in Loxleys Restaurant . There is a farm shop closeby and some beautiful countryside walks to enjoy . The house is stunning, beautifully decorated and our room was delightful with the most outstanding view across the garden and countryside. The room and en-suite was well equipped with tea, coffee, biscuits and little toiletries which add a personal touch and spotlessly clean. It’s a Paris themed room so very romantic!
The highlight for us, apart from the delicious cooked breakfast, was the garden. It simply takes your breath away. It is clear that Gillie and Paul not only love but have an amazing eye when it comes to all things plants, shrubs and flowers. The colours of the flowers and the carefully thought out placing of everything is simply gorgeous . There is a whole vegetable patch with an abundance of delicious vegetables growing and we strolled around exploring and admiring everything. We simply didn’t want to leave and will certainly be returning many times.
Gillie and Paul made us feel so welcome and we left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. And we also bought some plants from the garden which will be a lovely memory of our time spent at Hill Cottage! Thank you both so much, we are recommending you to all our friends! More

We stayed at The Hill Cottage for three nights a week or so ago. The house is very interesting, beautifully decorated and immaculate. We had a lovely room... read more with a balcony over looking the garden and towards Stratford. Gillie and Paul were excellent hosts (though I didn’t meet Paul until our last day). Breakfast was excellent with a large selection of cereals, a fruit bowl, yogurt and a great full English or any components of a full English. The ingredients were top notch - especially the bacon - the best we’ve had in a B and B together with delicious home grown tomatoes, and I just knew as soon as we walked in Gillie would make delicious scrambled egg! I happened to ask Paul when ordering breakfast if they ever had smoked salmon on the menu - they didn’t - but the next day Gillie had got me some - I call that going the extra mile and it was much appreciated. Now to the garden - it is absolutely stunning and were we closer I would organise a trip with my Gardening Club! The new walled garden is amazing and so well designed and executed - a real labour of love by Gillie and Paul - well done to them! Truly a stunning B and B which we look forward to revisiting. More

And Gillian gave us The Balcony Room, as we also had in 2013. Wonderful experience.
We love this area of England, and with such a couple of hosts, we love it much more..

We got a lovely warm welcome from Gillian and Paul and were shown to our rooms. We booked 2 double ensuite rooms and they were both gorgeous with everything you needed. Comfy beds, a refreshment tray, hairdryer, straighteners!, tv and I even had a lovely balcony. Sadly the weather didn't allow me to use it.
The shower room was lovely with nice warm towels (always a winner with me!)
Breakfast was super with plenty of choice of cereals and Gillian would basically cook whatever you wanted. All this for £65 per room per night (single occupancy rate). Worth every penny!

What is difficult to describe is the lovely feel that the house has and this is down to Gillian and Paul with their warm hospitality and beautifully decorated home.

We will definitely be back as another trip to Stratford Upon Avon is on the cards and next time hopefully the weather will be better and we can spend some time in the lovely garden.

I'd decided to book a local B&B instead of... read more booking the Crowne Plaza where my business conference was taking place to have a quiet Breakfast and a break from being cooped up for days! I was so please I had! The host was so accommodating and easy to chat to, she made me feel like a friend coming to stay -a wonderful breakfast cooked to order and a lovely walk around the beautiful gardens before heading off to my 2nd conference day - hope to return with the family one day in the future for pleasure instead of business - Thank you Gillian and good luck for the 1st July!

The Hill Bed and Breakfast in Snitterfield went beyond my expectations. From the lovely surroundings and views to a true English breakfast, I felt completely at home. It was a challenge getting around without a car and the bus service is not as good as I thought when doing my research; again, the hosts were most helpful.
